THE STANDARD HOME PLAN

What does a residential snow removal season include?

The $2,000 seasonal fee reserves a home in the service network for October through April. Snow clearing is charged separately at $25 for each day the crew attends and clears the agreed property scope.

The standard size is a driveway serving a single or double car garage. Garage count describes the offer; the survey still records width, depth, slope and boundaries. A long or unusual driveway needs a scope review.

SCOPE BEFORE SIGNATURE

Which driveway areas are covered by residential snow removal?

The residential snow removal agreement identifies the actual driveway area to be cleared. A photograph or sketch should show the garage approach, street connection, parked-car restrictions and snow storage edge.

How are a single and double garage driveway assessed?

Single and double garage driveways fit the owner’s standard residential category. The survey confirms that driveway length and layout are suitable for that category; it does not silently add a third stall, lane, detached-garage path or public sidewalk.

Are sidewalks and front steps included in driveway snow removal?

Sidewalks and front steps are included only if they are named in the written scope. Ask for the public sidewalk, entrance path, front steps and any side gate route to be listed individually, with the method and price for each.

What should an included pedestrian route specify?

Record its length and width, step count, surface material, handwork requirements and where cleared snow can be placed. Ice treatment is a separate task from moving fresh snow.

How should sensitive surfaces be documented?

Identify decorative concrete, pavers, exposed edges and pre-existing damage during the survey. Put the permitted equipment and treatment products beside those surfaces in the scope.

What belongs in the surface-condition record?

Keep dated reference photos, marked edges and the property contact’s acknowledgment with the agreement. Compare later exceptions with that initial record.

When does the $25 snow clearing charge apply?

The $25 residential clearing charge applies to each day snow clearing actually takes place at the premises. The charge is tied to the property-day, not to a general forecast or a day without service.

The signed terms must define the billing day and explain repeated passes during that day, work that crosses midnight and a later return after another snowfall. Review the property-day billing examples before signing.

What happens after a city plow leaves snow at the driveway?

A city-plow windrow is a separate return scenario that needs an explicit rule. The agreement should say whether it triggers a return, how that return joins the route and whether a later calendar day adds a property-day charge.

The same clarity applies to drifting snow, freezing rain, packed snow under a parked vehicle and snow placed by another contractor. See the contract exception register.

How are residential route updates communicated?

Residential snow removal route updates use the property contact and email or SMS channel named in the agreement. A useful update states the service event, expected window and any delay; a completion record states what was done and any access issue.

Use the completion and billing record to connect service dates to invoice lines. The local preview does not send messages or reserve a route.

How can you prepare your home for seasonal snow removal?

A homeowner’s snow removal plan connects driveway boundaries, weather triggers, return visits and service-day records. The illustrated guide answers those practical questions before you prepare the property brief.

Which driveway details define residential snow removal scope?

A snow removal property brief records the address, clearing surfaces, access requirements and contact needed for a measured service agreement.

What does the residential reservation guarantee mean?

The residential reservation fee pays for a reserved place in the agreed seasonal service network, rather than a fixed number of snowfalls. The proposed contract earns reservation value by calendar day, records the clearing trigger and completion window, and prices each completed clearing property-day separately. Cancellation can release future capacity under the proposed unused-day refund calculation.
